Today i faced this issue on a user's system when he open an infected link all their desktop's icons become Word Shortcut link, when he double click on any program the MS Word Opens, so i have searched on it and i got some working triccks
here i am sharing with you these links with screen shorts i hope you will get resolved this issue.lets start.



How to fix it.
1.open the RUN dialog Box type REGEDIT (Start → Run or (Win) key+R)
2.Type There REGEDIT then click [OK] or type Enter
3.HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts
4. Look for a .lnk branch, If you find one, then in this key you can see "OpenWithList" and "OpenWithProgids".
if your system is not infected with word shortcut then you see only these both  "OpenWithList" and "OpenWithProgids", if your are facing word shortcut issue then you will see extra key named "userChoice"
5. Delete userChoice
Reboot your system and issue will be resolved inshallah
